The role of nutrition in insulin resistance

Where meal spacing, fibre and carbohydrate quality sit within an ordinary day.

Decisions about eating rarely stay limited to a single meal. A skipped breakfast shapes the late-afternoon hunger, and that hunger shapes the evening meal. For that reason we assess every enquiry across the whole day rather than through one number.

The sections below gather the points our clients ask about most often. Even so, every daily routine is different, and a plan can only be drawn up after a consultation.

How the assessment works

The first session takes a dietary history and reviews sleep, working hours, kitchen habits and any laboratory results together. That review decides where the plan begins.

We then talk through the goals and the interval between sessions. Your daily routine and budget are an essential part of the plan; a plan you cannot follow is not a good plan.

What to pay attention to

  • Keeping every food group on the plate, to the extent it is tolerated.
  • Making change in small weekly steps rather than all at once.
  • Repeating measurements under the same conditions and at the same interval.
  • Running the plan in line with medical follow-up wherever a condition requires it.

What happens afterwards

Once a programme is complete we suggest occasional sessions so the routine you have built holds. The interval depends on the programme followed and on how settled your daily pattern has become.

The information in this article is for general guidance. It does not replace a medical examination or a personal nutrition plan. The right approach for your own situation becomes clear after an assessment in the consultation.
